General Information On Indonesian and International Driver’s Licenses
Indonesian driver’s license
Australian citizens in Jakarta who wish to apply for an Indonesian driver’s license should contact the POLDA (Police Regional Office) whose jurisdiction covers the area of their domicile.
General requirements for applying for an Indonesia driver’s license are as follows:
- Original and a copy of your Australian Driver’s License
- Original and a copy of your Indonesian ID Card – “KITAS”
- Original and a copy of your passport
- Health Certificate issued by a Police doctor in POLDA
- Cash payment in the approximate range of IDR250,000.00 to IDR350,000.00
International driver’s license
People with queries concerning an International driver’s license can contact the IKATAN MOTOR INDONESIA (IMI, or Indonesian Motor Club) at Stadion Tenis Senayan, Jakarta Selatan, telephone +62 21 573 1102.
General requirements to apply for an International License at IMI are:
- Completed application form
- Original Indonesian driver’s license and its copy
- Original passport and its copy
- 4 (four) 4x6 photos (recent)
- Original KTP/KITAS and its copy
- Cash payment of approximately IDR440,000.00
- A processing time of approximately 2 (two) working days
